Join us for a transformative 2-day Myofascial Ashiatsu Workshop designed for licensed massage professionals who are looking to expand their skillset with this powerful barefoot bodywork technique that can be integrated into their current massage practice.
Ashiatsu, meaning "foot pressure", utilizes deep, broad strokes delivered with the therapist’s feet while using overhead bars for support and balance. Ashiatsu is especially beneficial for clients seeking a deeper-pressure massage, such as athletes, dancers, or those with an active lifestyle. The benefit for your client is that the broad surface of the therapist’s feet allows for deep pressure without the sharp or poking sensation sometimes felt with elbows or thumbs. The benefit for the therapist is that Ashiatsu allows you to go deeper without over-exertion, while extending your available services.
In this hands-on workshop, you'll learn:

Fundamental Ashiatsu techniques and body mechanics

Proper use of overhead bars for safety and control

How to deliver deep tissue work using feet, with minimal strain on your hands and body

Client positioning, contraindications, and professional draping practices
Each day combines lecture, demonstration, and supervised practice to ensure you gain confidence and competence. By the end of the course, you'll be ready to integrate Ashiatsu into your practice and offer your clients a unique, effective form of deep tissue massage.
Upon completion, students will receive a Continuing Education Certificate in Myofascial Ashiatsu and 16 CEUs through the FSMTB (Federation of State Massage Therapy Boards).
This course is open to licensed massage professionals only.
About Your Instructor
Val Jetzorreck is the owner and lead therapist of Masoki Massage Therapy in Richmond, Virginia, with two thriving locations in Scott’s Addition and Henrico. A licensed massage therapist for over 15 years, Val combines deep technical expertise with an intuitive, client-centered approach that has made her practice a trusted destination for restorative and therapeutic care.
Val holds degrees in Massage Therapy and in Business. Her journey with bodywork began early in life, when she was first introduced to Ashiatsu as a young girl in Cambodia by her mother. That formative experience planted the seed for what would later become a defining focus of her career.
Today, Val is recognized as one of the leading practitioners of Ashiatsu, skillfully blending this modality with a range of techniques to meet the unique needs of each client. Her clientele has included professional athletes, dancers, musicians, and individuals from all walks of life, each drawn to her precision, strength, and genuine passion for healing.
In response to growing interest from fellow therapists seeking to expand their skills, Val has developed an intensive two-day Ashiatsu training course, offered exclusively to licensed massage therapists. Through teaching, mentoring, and hands-on instruction, Val continues to elevate the practice she loves, helping both clients and practitioners move, feel, and live better.
Here's How You Can Register
Please be aware that class sizes are intentionally kept small so that each student has a chance to get hands... ahem...
feet-on time. As a result, availability is on a first-come basis.

Cancellation and refund policy
Refunds will be given in the form of a credit towards a future class for any student who needs to withdraw for any reason, up to two weeks in advance of the class, minus a $50 cancellation fee. Cancellations made within two weeks of the class will have a $225 cancellation fee.
Cancellation credits can be applied towards a future class within one year of the original workshop date. If the credit is not used within the year following the cancelled class, it will be forfeit.
Once classes begin, there are no refunds.
In the unlikely event that the class must be cancelled entirely, you will receive a full refund for class fees, and you agree not to hold the instructor/me or Masoki Massage Therapy responsible for any other expenses.
Once you have registered, we will send you a payment request. Your spot in the class is secured only after payment is received. Please note that registration alone does not guarantee a spot.
