Policies & FAQ for Myofacial Ashiatsu Workshop
Cancellation and refund policy: Refunds will be given in the form of a credit towards a future class for any student who needs to withdraw for any reason, up to two weeks in advance of the class, minus a $50 cancellation fee. Cancellations made within two weeks of the class will have a $225 cancellation fee.
Cancellation credits can be applied towards a future class within one year of the original workshop date. If the credit is not used within the year following the cancelled class, it will be forfeit. Once classes begin, there are no refunds.
In the unlikely event that the class must be cancelled entirely, you will receive a full refund for class fees, and you agree not to hold the instructor/me or Masoki Massage Therapy responsible for any other expenses.
Payment policy: Payment may be made in full, or in two equal deposits. If you pay with a deposit, keep an eye out for an email 2 weeks prior to class to finalize the second payment.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
How big are the classes? Typical class sizes range from as few as four students to a maximum of eight. Classes are intentionally kept small to ensure that each student can fully participate in every aspect of the learning process - from experiencing Ashiatsu as the client to practicing techniques as the therapist and applying previously learned skills.
What do I need to bring? One or two set of sheets and face cradle cover(s), your unscented oil of choice - Jojoba, Coconut or refined Sesame Seed Oil and of course, loose comfortable clothing.
What do the two days look like? Both days start at 9:00 am and end at 6:00 pm, with an hour-long break for lunch at about 1:00 pm.
Day One will begin with primary basics and we will talk about Ashiatsu as a modality, followed by a demonstration, prior to talking about body mechanics, safety and working with bars. We will have discussions on fascia, breath work, proper draping practices, delivering specific pressure and feet hygiene. And of course you will get your time on the bars, putting into application what you have learned, while trading with other students - our primary focus on this day will be leg and back routines.
On Day Two we will do a review of Day One, and then dive further into techniques by talking about contraindications, and continuing to work with leg and back routines, and introduce front facing routines.
